We are honored to have been a part of this fantastic season, every step of the way. We also wish much success to our two seniors, Cam and Ike, and know that they already have and will continue to do great things in their life! Thanks for the memories!

Each one of us in The Green Machine had a great time cheering and supporting the team as well as enjoying the mason spirit throughout Cleveland.  Many fans from other teams came up to Doc and us to express their appreciation for the excitement and musical entertainment we brought to the tournament. One thing’s for sure, Cleveland will never be the same since the Mason Nation took over. Thank you to all the Mason fans who followed the progress of the team and Green Machine on our trip!

Best of luck to all Patriots heading into the end of the semester. Next up for The Green Machine is a performance at the Wolftrap 5k on April 2nd! Come enjoy the day at Wolftrap and hear some of your favorite hits we play.

Trips were made to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Hard Rock Cafe, and Tower City Mall. Everyone was still tired from the game on Friday, so we all headed to bed early to rest up for the game today. The Green Machine is ready to cheer on the team and keep the spirit high, regardless of the outcome of today’s game. We are so very proud of the boys and all of their accomplishments. Can’t wait to watch them play today! Go Patriots!

Watch out Cleveland the Green Machine and Mason Nation are taking over! :-)

The Green Machine made sure to make extra noise to fill the huge Q Arena. Regardless of whether the team was down or up, the Green Machine kept the music pumping and the Mason spirit high. As the lovely hotel lobby staff say, George Mason beat “Villasomebody” today! Now that we have taken down Villanova, we face off with Ohio State on Sunday. The band is pumped and ready to see the Patriots advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Tomorrow is a free day, although there is talk of the band making a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

We played through a bunch of favorites such as Kanye West’s Power as well as Flashing Lights, Battle Without Honor or Humanity, and our sensational new favorite, Bullz on Parade. We finished off rehearsal with the National Anthem since we have the honor of being the higher seeded team and playing it to kick off the tournament here in Cleveland. Later tonight, we’re all (Band and Spirit) getting together for a group dinner. Roughly 20 hours until game time! Go Patriots!

That’s how we roll!  The team shot around and did some drills while the pepband, cheerleaders and dance team got the Official NCAA t-shirts and then cheered them on! I believe there will also be some local coverage of Mason on the news here in Ohio. They must have had Mason’s playlist during practice because the songs consisted of “Power”  ”Don’t Stop Believing” ”Pour some Sugar on Me” and of course “Livin on a Prayer.” They sure do know how to get us pumped!  After a very successful practice, the team paraded through the crowd to thank us for coming to support them and stopped to take the occasional photo or two! The team is done and ready, now it’s time for the Green Machine, Cheerleaders and Dance team to get ready!

Been a long day, yet fun and exciting. I believe the excitement was started by the multiple news stations who came to the Patriot Center to celebrate with us and see the whole team off to the NCAA tournament.  It was great seeing Coach L, the basketball team and of course the Green Machine interviewed and wished success all the way through.  From there, the excitement was kicked into another gear, when we were driven straight to our very own airplane! Oh yea, and once we got to Ohio, the buses picked us up right off the airplane! If that wasn’t good enough, the hotel had their very own Mason Spirit team to great us.  The accommodations are great and we appreciate all the effort being put in by the hotel staff to make this an enjoyable stay! 

Once we got to the hotel, we were able to go enjoy Cleveland and all the food they had to offer, because believe you me, we all were hungry! We went our separate ways, however, while walking downtown we could see groups of Mason students in their matching green windbreakers.  We all convened back at the hotel to watch the VCU/USC game.  Unfortunately the channel the game was on was not being offered by the hotel.  Fortunately several laptops were able to pull up  the game and the hotel allowed us to connect it to a big screen tv.  It was hilarious hearing some the frustration from folks when the laptop would skip or have to reload the video, however we got through it. Now that the day is over, it’s time to call it a night.

Breakfast tomorrow morning, followed by an open practice at the arena for the Basketball team! The Green Machine and Cheerleaders will be rehearsing tomorrow afternoon getting ready for GAME DAY on friday!

Congrats to VCU on their win tonight. Let’s keep the CAA strong!

We arrive with a welcome team wearing Mason gear and handing out cookies! We walk into the hotel and the whole lobby is decked out with Mason! Very Exciting! They know how to make us feel welcome! After a great afternoon of eating, we are having a watch party for the VCU/USC game!
